Sex ed in the U.S. has been known to be sub par due to this country’s “traditional” take on sex — but a particularly harrowing example of how conservative ideas have been strangling our sex education system involves 1990s Texas. Bush revised 1990s sex ed textbooks so that there was little to nothing about condoms and STDs, and homosexuality was completely omitted from the text. Why?
